Eileen Murphy is a New York-based product designer with a strong foundation in user experience, visual design, product strategy, and front-end development. She works on projects at every stage from conception, exploration, design, prototyping and working with development to ensure a quality product is created. Working directly with other designers, product, developers, newsroom stakeholders, and other teams, she has led the design of the NYT slideshows; video, 360° video, and audio players; The Daily 360; and audio asset pages.
Previously, Eileen was a Senior Interaction Designer at a small Brooklyn design studio, A Different Engine, where she worked on a variety of platforms for national and international clients.
She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame where she earned her BFA in Visual Communication Design in May of 2014. While there, she was the recipient of the Judith Anne Wrappe Memorial Art Award, which is given to two students “who demonstrate the qualities of talent, tenacity, enthusiasm, and sense of humor.”
In her spare time, Eileen makes pottery, goes to live shows, and puts her useless knowledge to work at pub trivia.
